SAIICHI SUGIYAMA
Saiichi Sugiyama
is a blues/rock guitarist/singer/songwriter
with soul and gospel
influence who is currently making a name for himself and is known for
the quality of his music in the US and UK. Time Out London gave him the
accolade of “the Japanese Bluesmaster” in the early ‘90s.
Born in
Tokyo but a resident of Surrey since 1980, his first Japanese release in
2004, “So Am I”, co-written and co-produced with Pete Brown, the Cream
lyricist, was hailed as “classy songwriter stuff” by the influential
Strange Days magazine of Japan. His latest album “SAIICHI” was premiered
at Sugiyama’s sell-out show at Hard Rock Café London on 6 May
2005. Sugiyama has recorded and/or appeared on stage with Zoot
Money, Clem Clemson, Pete Brown, Stan Webb and the Yardbirds.
