SAIICHI SUGIYAMA

Saiichi Sugiyama is a blues/rock guitarist/singer/songwriter with soul and gospel influence who is currently making a name for himself and is known for the quality of his music in the US and UK. Time Out London gave him the accolade of “the Japanese Bluesmaster” in the early ‘90s.

Born in Tokyo but a resident of Surrey since 1980, his first Japanese release in 2004, “So Am I”, co-written and co-produced with Pete Brown, the Cream lyricist, was hailed as “classy songwriter stuff” by the influential Strange Days magazine of Japan. His latest album “SAIICHI” was premiered at Sugiyama’s sell-out show at Hard Rock Café London on 6 May 2005. Sugiyama has recorded and/or appeared on stage with Zoot Money, Clem Clemson, Pete Brown, Stan Webb and the Yardbirds.
