ROBIN BIBI
BAND
Robin
Bibi is a charismatic and versatile performer who never fails to engage
his audience. This is clearly evident whether he is performing as a
solo artist, as a duo or with his full band. Due to the band's growing
reputation and a highly entertaining stage presentation, The Robin Bibi
Band have become one of Britain’s busiest bands and have
successfully broken into the festival scene.
Robin is without a doubt one of the
UK’s top guitarists who rightly appeared on the cover of ‘Blues In
Britain’ magazine in September 2003. He is a talented vocalist who
sings from the heart. He has worked with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Ben
E. King, Helen Shapiro among many others and recently
played
at the Albert Hall where he appeared as guest guitarist in B. B. King's
support band.
Blues,
funk, soul, rock, reggae and jazz are all rolled together in The Robin
Bibi Band's unique sound which can be heard on the band's first album
'Blue Thrash Therapy'. This is a mixture of the bands most requested
songs from the live set and their own original songs. This album
received excellent reviews and extensive airplay.
The album 'Language of
your Soul', which further demonstrates the band's song writing potential,
was released in April 2000. ‘A Tribute to Fast’, recorded in memory of
the late Brian T. Holmes, was released in 2002. The latest album, ‘Live
Therapy’ is testimony of the bands vibrant and varied live performance. This
impressive collection of tracks was recorded at five venues and is an
eclectic mixture of Bibi originals and traditional blues-rock epics.
Robin’s current project is an acoustic album,
soon to be released.
The
band, a well-lead, tried and tested trio format, is comprised of
Robin Bibi on guitar and vocals, Hans Ferrao on percussion
and Tony Marten on bass and vocals within which each player has
the opportunity to demonstrate the breadth of their talents. Robin can
also be seen playing with some of Britain’s top musicians such as Geoff
Cooper, Martin York, Paul Robinson, Chris Bellshaw, Pete Shaw, Jonathan
Banks, Darby Todd and Ed Spevok.
Whether Robin is appearing solo, as a duo or with his full band, it is
exuberant, passionate, dynamic, exciting and fun. It is music played
straight from the heart that will move your head, your heart and of
course your feet!
