Pete
Saunders is an amazing keyboard virtuoso and singer. He is engaging,
energetic, enthusiastic and entertaining with a varied range of pace and
style. A talented and versatile musician, Pete will perform as a solo
artist or with a variety of others as a duo or trio.
Pete Saunders' Fat Tuesday Band comprises of
Barbara Snow on trumpet, Clare Hirst saxophone, Amy Baldwin double bass and
Simon Charterton drums, and creates the Music of Street Carnivals. Think of
Dr John, Professor Longhair, Alan Toussaint, the Meters and a glorious New
Orleans Mardi Gras, and you're on your way!
Pete was in Dexy’s Midnight Runners and The
Damned, while the members of his band have played with David Bowie, Maxi
Priest, The Blow Monkeys, The Bellestars, Manic Street Preachers, Charlie
Higson, Alex Harvey and Jules Holland.
Suitable for festivals as it is, there is also
The Slim Fat Tuesday Band, which is the reduced version in size to
accommodate smaller budgets and venues, or the expanded version The Big Fat
Tuesday Band, which includes the usual line-up plus extra guests, and which
can be presented as a mini-festival in itself.
The band sometimes features
Lee Badau, one of the
busiest sax players on London’s Rhythm and Blues circuit. His career
includes work with Otis Grand, Jools Holland, James Hunter, Wes Weston, The
Big Town Playboys, Fatjacket, Ocean’s Seven and Sonny Black among many
others. He is a regular player at the 100 Club and many other top London
venues.
